All guests will meet in the capital city of the historical Burgundy region in eastern France, Dijon and be transferred to Finesse by an air-conditioned minibus. The crew will be waiting to welcome you with chilled champagne. You will be given enough time to wander along the towpath and admire the classic Burgundy scenery before having your first dinner on board.
Finesse begins its voyage through Southern Burgundy passing Canal du Centre through heaving countryside to moor at St-Leger-sur-Dheune. There are plenty of villages to explore which is why you go down a series of locks to disembark so you can start your own excursion. Some of the points of interests in St-Leger-sur-Dheune are Domaine de la Monette, Bernard Regnaudot, Chofflet Valdenaire Denis, and Jean-Claude Regnaudot et Fils. After an appetizing lunch on board, you will visit the 14th-century Château de Germolles, the best preserved of the residences of the Dukes of Burgundy, with its ducal chapel, medieval wall paintings, and romantic gardens.
Finesse will head to Autun, a commune in the Saône-et-Loire department in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté in eastern France. This is also a town of ancient origins with Roman gates and a 17,000 seat amphitheater. Autun was established to be a market town for livestock farmers of the Morvan. You will visit the cathedral that was built in the 12th century that is renowned for its architecture and its position on the pilgrims’ route from Vezelay to Santiago de Compestela in Spain. By noon, you will return to the hotel barge to have your lunch before cruising to Remigny and passing along the famous wine-producing village of Santenay.
Breakfast will be served on board before the excursion starts with a drive through the Côte de Beaune vineyards to the town of Beaune, a walled town at the center of the Burgundy winemaking region in France. A former charitable almshouse that was founded in 1443 by Nicolas Rolin in Beaune, France will also be visited as part of the Buaune's tour. You can stop by the old-fashioned and unique shops of the town before heading to Michelin-starred restaurant Le Montrachet to have an amazing lunch. You will then return to the barge for another cruise that will pass through the charming little town of Chagny near the village of Rully.
The journey continues cruising along Canal du Centre at a relaxed pace to moore at the village of Fragnes, a former commune in the Saône-et-Loire department in the region of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté in eastern France. This is the perfect time for you to walk or cycle along the towpath. You will be escorted on a winery tour and tasting at the 17th century Château de Chamirey in Mercurey which has been owned by the Devillard Family for five generations.
Finesse will leave in the morning to join the peaceful River Saône which passes amazing little ports such as Verdun-sur-le-Doubs and Seurre that will end at first destination, St-Jean-de-Losne. Your lunch will be served on board then you will take a tour of old Dijon, famous for its mustard and its wine. The medieval city of Dijon has the reputation of being the best-kept secret in France. You may also wish to enjoy some excellent shopping time. Tonight, there will be a Captain's farewell dinner on board.

Everything was amazing! The planning with Adventure Life went smoothly. The actual trip was fantastic! One of the best trips I have experienced. The cruise staff members were knowledgeable and attentive. I will be writing more about this on the blog!

Amazing assistance! Kevin and his team were so helpful and really gave us great advice. They quickly understood exactly what we were looking for and within a matter of days we had booked our holiday of a lifetime. I would definitely recommend to others.

I was on a trip to the UK while arranging another trip for next year. Was able to work with email and a short call to secure our spot on a tall ship cruise. Good company to work with so far.

I think it was very helpful that Franny and I spoke on the phone. I think she had a better idea of what we were looking for, and she planned a great itinerary for us!

I've just started the process, but Tilly has been very helpful and has a great personality that puts a traveler at ease. I think the paperwork has just begun so I can't give an overall rating of the whole experience. So far, so good.
